Xena Networks releases innovative L4-7 test platform

Extreme performance, ease of use and cost-efficiency make Xena’s new L4-7 Gigabit Ethernet test platform ideal for realistic network simulation and analysis.

Copenhagen, 1 April 2015: Xena Networks, a multi-award winning leader in Gigabit Ethernet test and measurement solutions, announces the availability of a new Layer 4-7 test platform. The platform targets realistic simulation of large-scale network scenarios, for analysis and characterization of network equipment and network infrastructures.

"Our goal with the new Layer 4-7 test platform is to bring a new class of stateful TCP based network simulation and analysis products to the market," explains Jacob V. Nielsen, CEO at Xena Networks. Xena expects the core audience will be developers of network equipment, network service providers, enterprises, and financial institutions looking to do realistic network simulation, analysis, and security testing.

Xena's new Layer 4-7 platform has three main components:

• XenaAppliance is a portable mini-chassis with 2 x 1/10GE Layer 4-7 test ports plus optional 6 x 1G or 2 x 10G Layer 2-3 test ports. The combination of high-performance Layer 4-7 and Layer 2-3 testing in an ultra-compact form factor makes this a powerful and versatile product offering. The Layer 4-7 performance is 4 million concurrent TCP connections and 2 million new TCP connections per second in end-2-end testing scenarios.

• XenaScale is a rack-mountable Layer 4-7 chassis with up to 120Gbps of test port capacity in a combination of 1/10GE and 40GE test ports. Customers can enable more Packet Engines and GE test ports via a software based upgrade scheme. The Layer 4-7 performance is 24 million concurrent TCP connections and 12 million new TCP connections per second in end- 2-end testing scenarios.

• XenaConnect is a user-friendly software application that makes it very easy to simulate and analyze high volumes of realistic network traffic, with automatic and comprehensive report generation for documentation of test results.
